Dave's f 18 is an awesome model. It has come on many trips up the slope only to have to sit on the hill in less than ideal conditions so it was great to see her finally flying nicely on a good day up at Shannon.
I thought I would post the video of it flying again here and start a bit of a tribute topic for her.

Might be just you Paul, no probs for me. Do they work better when viewed at the Youtube site?

Great vid Trubs and very nice flying Dave. That thing certainly has presence in the air.

Still regret selling mine. I was feeling a bit of a nutcase trying to get something like that to fly as a slopey and received some advice from foreign parts that it would be a big drag bucket that would only get flown a couple of times a year, so I flicked it on and then three weeks later Dave pipes up and says he is working on the exact same type of model

Such is life - those big slopies do require a lot of work for rather limited air time, but sure look cool on the day. I was seriously considering transporting mine on the roof rack of my car - that would have got some funny looks  I consoled myself with a slightly smaller (1.5m fuse length) foamie that I am going beat into PSS shape with lots of internal glass and carbon so that will be fun. Should look good out at Rags and Ruapuke - landings will be ..... delicate :D

Well done Dave!!

Yeah, but it's fun to have a few show ponies about. There is an active thread on this topic raging along on RCG ATM - some people like to do this

while others are more into performance scale

Hi Dave,

That thing looks sweet in the air!

The good thing is - you built it from scratch, nothing better than seeing your own work fly well!

I notice they all seem to fly the same as a slope soarer - unlike those DS things, jets can never seem to do the same speed (I spose it is to do with drag?)

Here is my F4 slope (no power) I carved it out of a block of EPP, has tape and vinyl covering.

ONLY problem was the Mount was the only place it would fly well as it needed huge amounts of lift.

Bring More jets to the slope I say... and lessen those planks!
